The right to life liberty, and security of the person is a fundamental human right that protects individuals from unlawful state interference, violence, and arbitrary detention. and arbitrary detention. Due process ensures access to fair procedures before a person can be deprived of their life, freedom, or property. Although the right to life is enshrined in respective Constitutions and laws in the Caribbean, ensuring this right is upheld remains a concern as national systems experience systematic challenges.
