The Caribbean Centre for Human Rights (CCHR) is proud to announce the appointment of Féyi N. Calliste-Lemessy as Legal Officer – Savings Law Clause, effective immediately. Féyi will be based at CCHR’s head office located at Plaza de Montrose, Chaguanas, Trinidad.
Féyi brings with her an impressive academic and professional background, featuring deep expertise in legal research, legislative drafting, and human rights advocacy. In her new role, she will focus on addressing issues related to the Savings Law Clause, contributing to CCHR’s broader mission of promoting and protecting human rights across the Caribbean.

This appointment has been made possible with the generous support of the Open Society Foundation (OSF). The OSF’s longstanding commitment to human rights, justice, and equality aligns closely with the work of the CCHR, enabling sustained efforts in addressing critical legal and human rights challenges in the region.
Professional Background
Féyi’s legal career includes several notable roles:
- Judicial Research Counsel, Judiciary of Trinidad & Tobago – where she conducted critical legal research and assisted judicial officers in drafting judgments.
- Legal Consultant – providing legal opinions, preparing court applications, and supporting senior consultants in intellectual property law across the Caribbean.
- Garvey-Nkrumah Fellow, AFCA Providers of Global Solutions, Maryland, USA – where she expanded her knowledge in human rights, international trade, and conflict resolution through global seminars and panels.
