Jennisa’s academic journey reflects her discipline, curiosity, and sustained commitment to excellence. A national and regional scholar, she received the President’s Medal for Modern Languages and a national scholarship in 2008, along with the CXC Regional Award for Modern Languages that same year. She holds a Bachelor of Science in International Relations, with honours, from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Master’s Degree in Latin American and Caribbean Regional Studies from Columbia University in the City of New York, where she graduated at the top of her cohort. She has also pursued technical and professional training in project, risk, and change management, and she speaks French and Spanish fluently.
Beyond her professional and academic accomplishments, Jennisa brings warmth, creativity, and a deep sense of service to the communities she is part of. She is passionate about music, education, and community building, and has played the piano and keyboard for more than 30 years. For 20 of those years, she has served in the music ministry at her parish, where she also sings and contributes to choir leadership. She enjoys mentoring young people, supporting community groups, and creating spaces where others feel encouraged, connected, and empowered.
