Jennisa Nandoo is an accomplished, results-driven programme management professional with more than 12 years of experience leading high-impact, multi-stakeholder initiatives. Known for her strategic insight, commitment to excellence, and calm, solutions-focused leadership, she has consistently guided complex programmes that deliver measurable outcomes and meaningful social impact.

In her previous role as Head of the Programme Unit at the UNHCR National Office in Trinidad and Tobago, Jennisa led strategic planning and partnership management across a portfolio of large-scale projects supporting protection and solutions for forcibly displaced people, including in emergency contexts. She built and sustained productive partnerships with the Government, the United Nations system, civil society and donors to advance humanitarian and development initiatives that strengthened social cohesion and inclusion. She also represented UNHCR in a range of national and regional fora, advocating for the inclusion of forcibly displaced people in national social protection systems.

Jennisa also served at the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, where she contributed to high-level diplomatic engagements, regional conferences, and trade agreement negotiations.

Her academic achievements reflect the same discipline, curiosity, and commitment to excellence that define her professional work. A national and regional scholar, Jennisa received the President’s Medal for Modern Languages and a national scholarship in 2008, as well as the CXC Regional Award for Modern Languages that same year. She holds a Bachelor of Science in International Relations, with honours, from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Master’s degree in Latin American and Caribbean Regional Studies from Columbia University in the City of New York, where she graduated at the top of her cohort. She is fluent in French and Spanish and was twice awarded the top-performing student in German at the University of the West Indies St Augustine, Centre for Language Learning. Jennisa also brings professional training in project, risk and change management.
